Johnsons Coaches are based near Birmingham, in the middle of the British Isles. Our excellent motorway connections and central location means that we can easily pick you up, whether you're in Birmingham, London, Manchester, Portsmouth, or anywhere else!

Our base lies between the rolling Cotswold hills and Shakespeare's country on one side, and the metropolitan city of Birmingham on the other. With Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon, the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), National Indoor Area (Barclaycard Arena), International Conference Centre (ICC) and Birmingham International Airport just a stone's throw away, we are ideally placed for enjoying all the Midlands has to offer.

We have listed below a small example of day excursion ideas for your group - which would give you a real taste of the best sights in the region. All are based on a minimum of 20 passengers and are a guideline price only.

Shakespeare's Stratford-Upon-Avon

Enjoy a guided coach tour of all five houses associated with William Shakespeare and his family. These include his Birthplace, Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Nash's House, Halls Croft & Mary Arden's House. Guided walking tours are also available to explore this famous market town. Also view the revamped Shakespeare Theatre, River Avon and Holy Trinity Church where the great man is buried. not fogetting Harvard House with its links to America.

Cotswold Countryfile Tour

Picture postcard Burford on the River Windrush is gateway to the Costwolds!  Here we include morning coffee and cake before meeting our guide for a tour of the region. After pausing for lunch in Northleach (not included) we visit the Cotswolds Far Park, home to TV Farmer and presenter Adam Henson.  There is always lots happening on Adam’s farm with seasonal demonstrations included.  Also included is an entertaining short talk on the farm and the rare breeds on show all over a cup of tea.

Oxford Guided Walking Tour

A place where there is so much to discover. View where 26 Prime Ministers of this country have been educated and explore with your guide the history of English Education. Follow the trail of Inspector Morse, the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings and the Golden Compass.  See where Alice in Wonderland was created and locations where Harry Potter was filmed. Visit one of the 38 colleges scattered around the City. There is so much to see and do in this wonderful city.

Bath

A world Heritage City, Bath is beautiful, elegant and full of spectacular architecture and world class attractions.  A blue badge guide will be on board to point out some of the attractions, such as the Royal Crescent, the Roman Baths and the magnificent Abbey.

Kenilworth

Lying in the heart of the Midlands, the town’s history goes back to Roman times - there being evidence of Roman occupation - and the town was mentioned in the Domesday Survey of AD 1086. Explore Kenilworth Castle and take a fascinating journey back through time. One of the most spectacular castle ruins in England, it is a powerful reminder of great leaders and events.

Coventry

Today it is a modern city with an ancient heart, 1,000 years in the making. It is a city with three Cathedrals (including the Time Team site), the location for Middlemarch by George Eliot and visited by William Shakespeare. Hear about Lady Godiva, discover why you are 'Sent to Coventry', understand why it was the seat of power for King Henry VI, explore its medieval past, see a 15th century Domesday painting and learn why and how the city was badly damaged during World War Two. It is also the home of the Coventry Transport Museum and Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. Guided tours can be a combination of both walking and coach. Our Green Badge Tourist guide, Roger is uniquely qualified to guide around the city. Having watched the city being rebuilt after World War Two, he has a unique insight of postwar Coventry and offers visitors, guided tours lasting from 1.5 hours to a whole day of his city.

South Warwickshire Guided Tours

A popular tour of South Warwickshire, includes visit to Royal Leamington Spa, views of Warwick Castle and town, views of Kenilworth Castle and a visit to Stratford upon Avon for lunch and a coach tour showing all five houses associated with William Shakespeare.  The route also takes in the best of the local countryside and passes through several attractive places of interest.

Other Day Excursions and Tours Available!

We can offer lots of tours and can tailor make to suit your requirements. Additional Blue Badge Guided tours can include The Black Country Museum, Ironbridge and its many museums, the trail of the Staffordshire Hoard including Tamworth, Lichfield, Black and White Village Trail, Downton Abbey, Midsummer Murders, Lark Rise to Candelford, following the trail of Eleanor Crosses, Rutland plus the balance of the Heart of England.

You can also follow the trail of King Richard III in Leicester and beyond.  Walking tours of Leicester are available, hearing about his life before he died at the Battle of Bosworth and where he was later buried. Or you can take a guided coach tour that follows him from Cradle to Grave and also hear about the War of the Roses.
