All drivers are uniformed, professional and committed to delivering a safe, welcoming and reliable travel experience.

Driver Selection

We operate a fair and thorough recruitment process, with all applicants assessed through a standardised interview and skills-based selection programme.

Successful candidates must complete health checks and enhanced DBS checks, alongside an assessment day that includes:

• Geography and map-reading assessments

• Highway Code testing

• Practical PCV driving assessment

This ensures every driver meets our high standards before joining the Johnsons team.

Training & Development

We are fully committed to the ongoing training and development of our drivers. Johnsons is a registered CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) driver training centre, allowing us to deliver high-quality training in-house.

Our driver development includes:

• Comprehensive induction training for all new starters

• CPC training, completed in line with UK and European regulations

• SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) training for all PCV licence holders
