We head to the bustling market town of Abergavenny with time to explore and obtain lunch. Afterwards, we travel along the 'Heads of the Valleys' road to Pant, where we enjoy a return ride behind a vintage steam locomotive.

The East Lancashire Railway is a 12 and a quarter mile heritage line and is home to one of the largest preserved diesel fleets on a UK heritage railway. The last large scale steam gala in the railway's annual calendar, this event features home fleet locomotives as well as special guests. Arriving at Bury, there is time to visit Bury Transport Museum before using your flexible ticket to choose your preferred loco rides for the day.

The Dartmouth Steam Railway runs from Paignton for seven miles in Great Western tradition, along the spectacular Torbay coast to Churston and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart estuary to Kingswear. Here we take the passenger 'foot' ferry across the river to the seafaring port of Dartmouth, with its imposing Royal Naval College, to board our river cruise.

We drive to Blaenau Ffestiniog where we join the historic Ffestiniog Railway for a 13 ½ mile memorable train ride to Porthmadog. After pausing for lunch (not included), we continue to Portmeirion, an Italianate village overlooking the shores of Cardigan Bay, where there is time to explore the Italian style shops and houses.

Travel into the past of an industry that literally chiselled its way into the history of Wales. The National Slate Museum Victorian workshops and buildings are part of the original Dinorwig Quarry which closed in 1969 and are designed as though quarrymen and engineers have just downed tools and gone home.

The Llangollen Railway forms part of the old Ruabon to Barmouth Line and was reopened in 1975 after the branch line was closed in the 1960’s.

Mountaineering made easy, on a ride of over four miles to the roof of Wales! Travel along at 5mph on the only rack-and-pinion railway in the UK, which is without doubt one of the most spectacular railway journeys.

The long term goal of the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway has been to extend the line from its current terminus at Toddington, to Broadway. This milestone was achieved in 2018 when the golden age of steam returned to this beautiful Cotswold village.

The Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway recreates the Golden Age of Steam with an enchanting 28-mile round trip through the Cotswold Hills with glorious views across the Vale of Evesham. Departing from Broadway, we journey via Toddington, Winchcombe, the Greet Tunnel and the Dixton Cutting to Cheltenham Racecourse. Here our coach is waiting to take us into Cheltenham for a few hours before returning to the station for the return journey.

The fair is probably the leading event of its type in the world. The show, on a mammoth 500-acre site, recreates English country life as it was in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The extraordinary spectacle includes 200 working steam engines, 100 fairground organs, 50 showmen's engines, old time steam fun fair, vintage tractors, cars and motorcycles.

Sit back, relax and take a nostalgic journey through some of Wales' most spectacular scenery. We travel to Aberystwyth where there is free time for lunch before we board the train and travel through wide open fields, woodland and rugged mountain scenery, climbing to a height of 700ft before arriving at Devils Bridge.

We travel to Bishops Lydeard in Somerset, to board the charming West Somerset Railway for a 20-mile ride, with views of the Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel. Memories abound as we gently wind our way to Minehead. Minehead is where Exmoor meets the sea.
