Autumn Steam Gala at the East Lancashire Railway

The East Lancashire Railway is a 12 and a quarter mile heritage line and is home to one of the largest preserved diesel fleets on a UK heritage railway. The last large scale steam gala in the railway's annual calendar, this event features home fleet locomotives as well as special guests. Arriving at Bury, there is time to visit Bury Transport Museum before using your flexible ticket to choose your preferred loco rides for the day.

Dartmouth Steam Railway & River Cruise

The Dartmouth Steam Railway runs from Paignton for seven miles in Great Western tradition, along the spectacular Torbay coast to Churston and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart estuary to Kingswear. Here we take the passenger 'foot' ferry across the river to the seafaring port of Dartmouth, with its imposing Royal Naval College, to board our river cruise.

Ffestiniog Railway & Portmeirion

We drive to Blaenau Ffestiniog where we join the historic Ffestiniog Railway for a 13 ½ mile memorable train ride to Porthmadog. After pausing for lunch (not included), we continue to Portmeirion, an Italianate village overlooking the shores of Cardigan Bay, where there is time to explore the Italian style shops and houses.

Snowdon Mountain Railway

Steaming through the Cotswolds & Cheltenham

The Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway recreates the Golden Age of Steam with an enchanting 28-mile round trip through the Cotswold Hills with glorious views across the Vale of Evesham. Departing from Broadway, we journey via Toddington, Winchcombe, the Greet Tunnel and the Dixton Cutting to Cheltenham Racecourse. Here our coach is waiting to take us into Cheltenham for a few hours before returning to the station for the return journey.

The Great Dorset Steam Fair

The fair is probably the leading event of its type in the world. The show, on a mammoth 500-acre site, recreates English country life as it was in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The extraordinary spectacle includes 200 working steam engines, 100 fairground organs, 50 showmen's engines, old time steam fun fair, vintage tractors, cars and motorcycles.

Vale of Rheidol Railway, Aberystwyth

Sit back, relax and take a nostalgic journey through some of Wales' most spectacular scenery. We travel to Aberystwyth where there is free time for lunch before we board the train and travel through wide open fields, woodland and rugged mountain scenery, climbing to a height of 700ft before arriving at Devils Bridge.

We travel to Bishops Lydeard in Somerset, to board the charming West Somerset Railway for a 20-mile ride, with views of the Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel. Memories abound as we gently wind our way to Minehead. Minehead is where Exmoor meets the sea.
