Johnsons Have the Monopoly on Group Travel

Date Added 21/10/2016

Johnsons Coach Travel headed to the NEC on Thursday 20th October 2016 to take part in the annual Group Travel & Leisure Show.

As Johnsons have recently revealed that they have a square on the new Stratford-upon-Avon Monopoly board, the staff dressed as Mr Monopoly to meet and greet exhibitors.

The show which is in its 20th year was one of the biggest to date, and featured more than 200 exhibitors, as well as the largest coach display area in the exhibition’s history.

More than a thousand people attended and group travel organisers were able to meet and chat to exhibitors from destinations, accommodation providers, tour operators, attractions, stately homes, cruise companies and shopping centres.

Johnsons worked with other exhibitors such as Blenheim Palace, Eden Project, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and West Somerset Railway to form a treasure hunt around the exhibition hall in the style of a Monopoly board. Exhibitors picked up a playing board from the Johnsons team and then visited the other stands to answer questions about the attractions. Once the board was completed, they could chose a golden envelope which contained prizes such as free excursion tickets, places on Johnsons’ Christmas fam trip, £50 off coach hire and money off group tours. Over 100 exhibitors took part in the game and were delighted to win their prizes.

Jo Brown, Group Tours manager at Johnsons commented: “It was so fantastic to meet so many of our existing group organisers and see new faces too. Our Mr Monopoly outfits attracted a lot of attention, although the fake moustaches started to wilt by midday! The show was a really good way to meet our suppliers and gather new ideas for 2017 and 2018.”
