ONE YEAR ON AND HOPE IS ON THE HORIZON

Today marks one year since we entered our first lockdown after the COVID-19 pandemic began. The past year has been a strange and difficult one for us all, but today gives us opportunity to reflect and see how far we have come. As many of you know, the pandemic has massively affected our industry but we do believe that hope is on the horizon with many of you booking our fantastic Door to Door Holidays, Great Breaks, Day Excursions and Express Excursions, as well as interest and bookings being made for our Private Hire coaches too! The one constant throughout was our Excelbus service which has supported keyworkers and many alike throughout this pandemic getting you where you need to be safely. 

There have been almost 50 COVID updates posted to our website since the first lockdown was announced with John featuring on many radio stations, local news and even shot to fame on national television for the BBC One Show! We celebrated the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, introduced Coach Capacity Guidelines, Safe Operating Procedures and implemented Visit England’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ campaign, all to keep you all safe and  well as well as much more besides. Back in August 2020 we saw our Express Excursions depart again albeit with our COVID Safe measures which many of you joined us on and briefly restarted our holiday in September 2020 until the second lockdown was announced in November. To keep spirits high at Christmas time we delivered gifts and cards to our customers who had their festive holiday cancelled; and then introduced our ‘Book Now, Pay Later’ campaign for Holidays, Excursions and Private Hire in early 2021 to provide you with the confidence to book. In everything we’ve done we have kept the health and safety of you, our loyal customers and our hardworking staff foremost in our minds. 

Coach travel means so much more than just going on holiday or travelling to an event – it provides us with much needed social interaction – and memories that last forever.  We are hopeful for the future and look forward to May 17th when we can once again welcome you back on board! We know the demand is going to be huge and we cannot wait to get back to what we do best – and that is helping you to ‘enjoy the views and treasure the memories’!
