A Festive Success: Celebrating the 2024 Holiday Season

Record-Breaking Tours, Happy Passengers, and Smooth Operations Thanks to Our Incredible Team!

The festive period between 22nd December and 3rd January is always a highlight for the Own Products Team, and 2024 was no exception!

Over 660 passengers travelled on 19 tours across the UK, representing our second highest ever booking figures and the best since 2020. This incredible achievement means that, during this 13-day window, we carried around 10% of our annual brochure tour passengers.

One of the key elements of our festive tours is our signature Door-to-Door Service, a logistical challenge. From managing a high number of feeder vehicles to ensuring sufficient parking, the operation runs smoothly thanks to the dedication of our staff and the patience of our customers. A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved for their cooperation during this busy time.

Financially, the festive period is critical for Johnsons, with total sales revenue approaching £600,000 and an impressive average load factor of 35 passengers per tour.

Passengers were treated to our traditional ‘Johnsons’ Festive send-off, complete with mulled wine, tea, coffee, mince pies, and biscuits. Santa Claus himself—played by our new General Manager, Ash Brown—made appearances at the Christmas tour departures, along with his cheerful elves!

Operationally, all departures ran smoothly and, despite some minor delays on return journeys due to heavy traffic and bad weather, passengers returned home safely. The busiest day was 27th December, when 12 tours returned, requiring nearly 80 feeder vehicle movements. Once again, a huge thank you to our Drivers, Couriers, and Feeder Drivers for their precision in meeting the scheduled slot times—it simply couldn’t have happened without your hard work!

We are currently reviewing customer feedback, and early results indicate high satisfaction levels, with many positive Feefo scores. We are in touch with customers who reported any issues to ensure their concerns are addressed.

All in all, it’s safe to say the 2024 festive period was a resounding success. Planning for 2025 is already underway—Ho! Ho! Ho!
