John & Anne Johnson Complete their Lands End to John O’ Groats Charity Ride, Raising Over £4,000 for Children in Need

John and Anne Johnson have successfully completed their 21-day charity bike ride from Lands End to John O’ Groats, raising over £4,000 for BBC Children in Need. See below a mesage from John & Anne Johnson about their journey: 

Well we completed our Lands End to John O’ Groats charity bike ride at 2.30pm on Friday 16^th August!  All went to plan, we had no mechanicals, or punctures and the weather was kind to us as we only got wet on 5 days out of 21 days on the road.  And Anne and I only fell out once, and that was when, in her opinion, I went too fast down the hills coming of Dartmoor!  Mind you we were doing over 40 mph, which feels very fast on a bike, especially if you are sat on the back, with no brakes, no steering and limited visibility!

It was a great adventure and we met so many friendly people on the journey, many of whom very generously donated to our charity. We’ve now raised over £4,000 for the BBC Children in Need Appeal, which is great news for the charity.  Our JustGiving Page will close shorty, so finally, for Anne and myself, can we say a great big thank you to everyone who very kindly supported us with donations and words of encouragement. This includes Johnsons customers, staff and suppliers, plus family, friends and as mentioned above, kind strangers that we met en-route. To all of you, your support and encouragement has been very much appreciated.
