Making more seats available on Buses

Date Added 18/05/2021

Making more seats available on buses from the 17th May 2021:

As we begin to move through the governments phased reopening, with more people being vaccinated and following an industry wide risk assessment, it's been decided that from the 17th May, we can start to safely make more seats available on local bus services.

Key Changes:

  • Customers can now travel using all forward facing seats and can sit next to each other, even if not from the same household or bubble.
  • Rear and side facing seats will still be unavailable, as will seats at the front near the driver. Standing is still not allowed.
  • Passengers using wheelchairs can travel rear facing in the designated wheelchair bay.
  • The 'Bus Full' destination display can still be used when capacity is reached.
  • All windows will be kept open to enhance the air flow to reduce the spread of germs.
  • Face coverings remain mandatory for all passengers, except those who are exempt.
  • Despite masks not being needed in schools, students need to continue to wear masks on board the bus.
