Challenge yourself to our Bus It List!

Date Added 10/06/2016

Residents in Stratford Upon Avon are more likely to head overseas than take advantage of some of the world’s leading attractions closer to home, according to a study commissioned by Johnsons Coach & Bus Travel.

Whilst foreign tourists flock to Shakespeare’s birthplace, closer to home eight in ten local residents were more likely to be boarding a plane than visiting local attractions when it comes to entertainment this summer.

Residents are predicting that they’ll spend an estimated 336 hours on foreign shores, compared to just 120 at local attractions. Of those questioned three quarters said that they would do more locally, but struggle for ideas.

Speaking about the results, John Johnsons, Commercial Director at Johnsons Coach & Bus Travel said: “We spend so much time thinking about the foreign destinations we’d like to visit that we miss what’s on our doorstep. To help locals make the most of what is around them, we’ve created a ‘BUS IT’ LIST of activities that shouldn’t be missed – which are all accessible with our bus network. We’re now calling out for more suggestions from the local community to make sure we can provide a comprehensive list of things to do in and around the Midlands.”

Johnsons Coach & Bus operates twenty-one bus services across the area and are launching a new Family Adventure Day Pass this summer which allows families to ride on their network of buses for the day for just £10 for 2 adults and 2 children. They are also launching a Student Summer Saver for 8 weeks of travel for just £99.
