JOHNSONS TO RUN STRATFORD-UPON-AVON PARK & RIDE SCHEME Henley-in-Arden based coach and bus operator Johnsons, have been appointed to operate the prestigious new Stratford-upon-Avon Park and Ride scheme. The Park and Ride will operate from the brand new site in Bishopton Lane off the A46 just north of the town. The first phase opens on Monday 21 November and will provide 326 spaces with buses running every 10 minutes. The full 725 space complex will be available by the end of April 2006 with a dedicated customer service building housing a waiting room, toilets, information displays, public telephones and vending machines. Johnsons will be responsible for not only running the bus services but manning and operating the site. Peter Johnson, Director of Johnsons Coach and Buses said “We are delighted to have been appointed to operate this project, especially as it will be Warwickshire’s first full time Park and Ride. New vehicles have been ordered to operate the scheme and these will carry a strong Park and Ride branding and a distinctive yellow and red livery.” JOHNSONS SHOW – A GREAT SUCCESS Johnsons Holiday Show – held at Henley-in-Arden High School last Saturday, was deemed a great success by Directors and staff. Over 1,200 people packed the hall throughout the day and staff were kept busy, taking bookings, organising slide and film shows, generally giving out holiday advice. Several trade representatives were also in attendance from hotels, tourist boards and attractions. The new look Johnsons brochure which includes for the first time “Activity Holidays” covering cookery, painting and an increased programme of walking is proving very popular and initial figures for holiday bookings is encouraging. This is the 17th time that Johnsons have held a holiday show in Henley-in-Arden and each year a charity is supported with raffles and donations by members of the public. This year it was Midlands based charity “Promised Dreams” which make dreams come true for terminally ill children. Some £500 was raised on the day. John Johnson, Director of Johnsons Coaches said “we are delighted with the response to our show, we know we offer a quality product and many of our customers return year after year which is testament to value and high standards of our holidays!” |
