Johnsons Coaches hosted Woods Coaches recently at Henley-in-Arden Sports Club, in a rematch to regain the George Wood Footbal Memorial Trophy.
The hosts were under pressure from the very first minute and were 1-0 down after 2 minutes. A quick equaliser from Johnsons´ Matt Payne evened up the scores but not for long, as Woods stormed into a 4-1 half time lead!
With wind at their backs Johnsons stormed back into the game , taking the score to 4-3 before a well struck free-kick restored Woods´ two goal advantage. Johnsons pulled one back but couldnt quite get the equaliser and the score finished 5-4, ensuring Woods took the trophy that Johnsons had held for the last two years. The match was played in great spirit, with lots of endeavour.
Johnsons hope a rematch will be lined up soon to give them a chance to get the trophy back!
