Christmas is an exciting time and not just for children! With lights decorations, presents to buy and wrap plus some time spent with friends and relatives, it all adds to our enjoyment of the festivities…its also a very busy time! Many people choose to take a holiday at Christmas time and certainly for our local coach operator, Johnson’s this is ‘the’ busiest time for holiday departures. They have 18 tours with nearly 600 passengers this year, departing over the Christmas and new year period, which makes it their busiest Christmas ever; so there’s a lot of work and preparation to be done to make sure that everyone has a great time. For a start theres presents to wrap for each customer, nearly a thousand mince pies to buy and 18 very large Christmas cakes to prepare. Add that to a glass of sherry for everyone and its not surprising that Johnson’s conference room resembles Santa’s Grotto! A team headed by Joan Johnson has been working almost non stop over the last few days getting everything ready and also every passenger gets picked up from their home with the company’s popular ‘Door to Door’ service, which amounts to 196 individual mini-bus journeys over the holiday period! John Johnson said “ Christmas is a very special time and everything on our tours has to be right . We do everything possible to make sure our customers have a really great time , each tour has a driver and courier on board and some take their families too. We even see coaches off in the morning with carols playing and a glass of mulled wine for each passenger. This year we are once again going to a wide variety of destinations including York, Sidmouth, Wales and Scotland. We are also have one tour going to the lovely town of Monschau in Germany and for this tour we even send Christmas pudding and brandy sauce and Christmas crackers! Its all about attention to detail but we wouldn’t have it any other way – and its very rewarding knowing that you are helping hundreds of customers to really enjoy their Christmas and New Year Breaks” |
