Investment continues at Johnsons

Some ¾ million has been invested, in six new vehicles, by local coach and bus operator Johnsons, with all vehicles scheduled for delivery in the spring.

The purchase of these vehicles is part of an ongoing investment programme aimed at ensuring that customers are offered the highest levels of comfort and safety in modern vehicles and also making sure the company stays well ahead of the competition.

The first vehicles to arrive, in March, will be three mini coaches offering both 24 and 16 seat options. They include every refinement;  air conditioning, double glazing, carpets, curtains, extra leg room and a large boot.

To add to the holiday touring fleet a Scania Irizar club class 44 seat vehicle will join the fleet in May, having the same high specification as the rest of the fleet but will also includes a three point seat belt system, aircraft style overhead lockers. The vehicles sports quite a radically modern look, so look out for it on the roads

Completing the package are two Optaire Tempo service buses which incorporate the very latest technology including a comprehensive CCTV system, low floor for easy access and low fuel emissions.

All vehicles contribute to a reduced Carbon Footprint as they conform to the very latest Euro 6 emission standards

With the mini coaches we have identified a need to offer private hire customers in particular a smaller vehicle which has most of the features usually only found on the larger coaches”.

The company now runs a fleet of some 70 vehicles and employs 250 full and part time staff all based at their coach depot in Henley in Arden
